I was born in the Northeast and our family moved to the Atlanta area when I was seven. I spent a lot of time exploring the woods and creeks close to our house, fostering my fascination with nature and wildlife. My mother and father took us camping and on trips that usually involved the outdoors in some way. Dad exposed me to fishing and Mom would show us the animals that lived in our yard. As a child I also discovered art and was able to attend private art school. In my teen years I worked in pet shops and bred fish and rats at home. My pets included ferrets, rats, a giant salamander, fish, dogs and a cockatoo. In adulthood, my artistic outlet was carving duck decoys. Life got busy, as it seems to do, and art gradually faded from my life. 2020 brought the birth of my first grandchild, a beautiful girl, and my son asked that I create a piece for her room. I enjoyed creating it, as it meant a lot to me, and it fueled my desire to continue creating. My return to painting started slow and my skills improved with time. In February of 2023, I quit a job of over twenty years to become a full-time artist. I enjoy the outdoors, fishing, kayaking and boating. My love of wildlife and the outdoors is the inspiration for my art.
